Hello everyone (or every-none as the case may be)! My friend Don and myself have decided to start a personal finance blog documenting our race to a million dollars. We’ll be staging our own competition to see who can get to a million dollar net worth first.
But in all seriousness, the race is a secondary goal to this blog. Our goals for writing this blog are many:
- To use the blog as a motivational tool to improve our personal finance situations. The race adds to the motivation factor.
- To give others an example of how easy it is to build wealth if you have just a little bit of self discipline.
- Have fun trying different ways to build wealth.
- To improve my writing! Don doesn’t need any help with this, but I sure do, so hopefully forcing myself to write periodically will help.
So, to close let me mention what we will be initially doing with this blog. We will be updating our respective net worth information on or about the first of every month. Additionally, we will each be investing $100 quarterly in an investment of our own choosing. We will track the performance of each investment every month in our updates. Lastly, we’ll be using this blog as a sounding board for thoughts we have on anything related to personal finance. We may add more periodic features in the future, so stay tuned!
Once again, let me welcome you and I hope you enjoy!
