Hi!  I’m Don and that is indeed my blue head.  I’m a 31 year old engineer and I’m just a few months from getting married to Anna, my beautiful, witty and intelligent fiance.

Like Paul, I’m writing this blog to get a better handle on the state of my personal finances and to grow it from where it is to our million dollar goal line.  I don’t know how long it will take, but it’s going to be fun.

What’s of special interest to me in the near term is how Anna and I are going to combine our finances and learn to work together to save money for our goals.  I’ve never been married before, and I’ve only ever had to think about myself from a financial perspective, so this will be uncharted territory for us.  Will we do joint accounts?  How will we split up our savings?  What are our retirement goals?  What are investments we can agree on?  Open questions, all.
